Food Options in Boston

Regina Pizzeria

Boston’s famous North end is one of its well-known historical neighborhoods that houses a host of Italian restaurants and cafes amid narrow streets and old buildings including the house of Paul Revere (famous for his midnight ride to warn people against the onset of the British troops in 1775).

Regina Pizzeria, one of Boston’s original brick oven pizza restaurants can be spotted miles away due to the snaking queues in front of it on a weekend.

Once you finally enter the premises, you immediately feel a part of the crowded, happy atmosphere with the posters on the wall that talk about its history dating back to 1926. You realize that you are here not just for the food. The pizza is of course great, the portions are huge, but the warm ambiance is probably what keeps bringing people back. After all, one can have more exotic thin crust pizzas in road side cafes of Italy.

Mike’s Pastry

Still at North End after the pizza lunch, if you are in the mood for a sweet treat, one can head to Mike’s Pastry. Long lines can be seen here again as people pick and choose from an awe inspiring array of desserts ranging from the local favorite Boston Cream Pie to Biscotti, Cakes, Fruit Squares, Marzipan, Cookies, Gelato and the works. There is something sweet here for everyone’s tastes and we found people packing huge boxes and children standing patiently with their parents and choosing their own picks. Another Boston tradition, this one.

Penang, China Town

In quite a different corner of Boston, the ubiquitous China Town beckons foodies and shoppers alike. While one can feast on a variety of dumplings here, we tried our luck at a Malaysian restaurant called Penang.

On a Sunday afternoon, it was packed to capacity with busy waiters running around the tables carrying orders and wearing warm, welcoming smiles.

In Penang, I would definitely recommend the Roti Telur, a dish which a friend of mine introduced me to.

Bengalis, who might be missing the ‘Mughlai Porota’ of our old Calcutta days, would find Roti Telur quite close to it and quite delicious too.

P.F. Changs

If you are in the mood for Chinese, but not close to Chinatown, PF Chang’s might be a good choice. The richly decorated interiors usher you inside to an inviting aura of subtle aromas and attentive service.

Food here is vibrant, bold and tasty, with plenty of choices, quite a sure hit for Chinese food lovers.

Restaurants In Lucknow

Tunde Ke Kebab

Probably, one of the most overstated name in Lucknowi cuisine. Yet, it stands true to all the reviews that people carry. The kebabs here are an amazing blend of taste and culture. (Aren’t they cute?) These cute small roundel kebabs have a long history in its association. The inventor of this dish was Haji Murad Ali, and he happens to broke his arm during his kebab invention period. He was trying to cook the most succulent and melting kebab for the then Nawab Asaf-ud-Dawala. The reason of cooking it to be very soft was in nawab’s favor, as he had lost most of his dentures. Thus, the one-armed man (Ali) got fame with the invention of very soft kebab, hence Tunde ke kebab. If intrigued, do try tunde ke kebab at Aminabad.

Meal for two – Rs 200

Idris ki Biryani

Yet another beauty of Lucknow lies in its biryani. Hunger is not the requirement to visit Idris for its aromatic biryani. Situated close to the Patanala Police Chowki, Idris Biryani Hotel is easy to find. Though, there is no sign board to search it. The only guessing is hordes of people awaiting their turn to enjoy the delicacy.

Meal for two – Rs 100

Rahim ki Nahari

With no signboard, Rahim ki Nahari has still got the power to fetch a horde of a crowd. The man who created the mouthwatering Nihari, Kulche and a lot more in its menu is Haji Abdur Raheem Saheb. With little efforts, it can found in the Phoolwali Gali. Apart from nihari and kulcha, one can try mutton biryani, phirni, sheermal, and kheer.

Meal for two – Rs 150

Ram Asre

If you are a sweet-tooth, try visiting this 200-year-old sweet shop, Ram Asre at Ban Wali Gali Chowk. Very easy to locate and awesome sweets that you would fall in love with. This sweet shop is famous for a plethora of dishes, yet a few of them are just heavenly. Try malai ki gilori (malai paan), sohan halwa, and khoya ladoo.

Meal for two – Rs 100

Mozart Cafe, Gurgaon

The Mozart Café is inspired by & named after the famous composer Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. This café is a mélange of many things varied like interiors, music and, of course, the fare it offers! But never misses its goals.

The brain-child of four people; mix and match is the mantra for The Mozart Café. The interiors are inspired by very modern and urban chic existence, the food is a spin-off of the traditional and the atmosphere is a brew of many moods.

Like the timelessness of Mozart’s Magic Flute, the tune that played for a better part of the evening, everything at The Mozart Café falls into place even though it always ran the risk of spilling over.

One of partner’s at The Mozart Café’ is said to be a leading exponent of bar tending in India and the medley of drinks reflects this. Besides the usual poisons the bar menu features an assortment of classic cocktails with a mega makeover, which isn’t for the faint hearted.

Ever thought of a Tom Yum Martini? Yes, the thought of the tangy Thai soup in a Martini avatar might be fascinating but come on, who in their right mind would have conjured up something as bizarre as this? The mish-mash of flavors in some of the other martinis like The Third Degree, Vodka shaken with in-house spice syrup that has a star aniseed chaser, Monta Rosa, green apple Martini taste good to say the least but most of these would fall in the acquired taste gallery but that doesn’t mean you should shy away from giving them a shot! Besides vodka, the bar has similar concoctions in other spirits as well and Zaza, a mix of cooked plums and rum stands out.

Just like the grand piano shaped DJ console, the elegant lighting and a host of other features that one would find difficult to blend, the food from across the globe comes together in an unexpected fashion. The menu consists of universal favorites but just like the drinks the food too undergoes layers of transformation before making it to your table. The man behind the food, Chef Niranjan Chauhan’s deftness at boldly mixing varying flavors infuses freshness in otherwise mundane regulars. Marinated with Thai chilies and red bell peppers the taste of the Chicken Tikka here is an experience in itself! Similarly most of the starters include a dash of some wild taste that just makes it diverse; do try the Braised Lamb, Hoisin and Five Spices Chicken (a tad dry but appealing nevertheless) and for the vegetarians it’s the Malai Tikka, which just melts and not to miss the Achari Pineapple.

For the main course the Rosted Fennel flavored Sea Bass along with the pernod sauce was tried and let’s just say this one’s strictly for sea bass lovers but if you are a white meat person then the Chicken Scallopine in hazelnut cream sauce should be the call of the day. Even if you’ve had your fill; do try the Bailey’s Crème Brulee, the exceptional flavored dessert is the perfect way to sign off.

Featuring gigs on the weekends, the 70 plus seating which doesn’t include the outdoor seating The Mozart Café is a relatively new name in Gurgaon’s food map. It still remains one of those places that are yet to be fully discovered. The atypical combination of cuisine attaches a certain sense of uniqueness to the place which explains a regular clientele that includes a healthy number of expats. This is a place that might need a while to grow on you but once it does chances are you won’t let go that easily.

Nibbley’s Cafe in Klamath Falls

When you walk into Nibbley’s, you are in a warm, friendly atmosphere. As you enter the dining area, you pass wonderful pastry cases filled with treats that are difficult to pass up. Walls are adorned with a collection of quilts that tell many stories which Debbie is happy to share. Debbie is quick to say, “Do what you love, love what you do and the money will follow.”

How difficult is it to order breakfast? In this case, it was incredibly difficult. There were so many choices, it was a challenge to select. Our group ordered a variety: Corn Beef Hash, homemade corn beef tossed with bell peppers, onions and country potatoes, served with two eggs and toast; Breakfast Burrito, bell peppers, onions, potatoes, sausage, bacon, ham and eggs scrambled inside a warm tortilla, jack and cheddar cheese and salsa on top with guacamole and sour cream; Mexican Scramble, corn tortilla strips, eggs, green chilies and onions scrambled with melted jack cheese, topped with sour cream and salsa and served with fruit; and of course, Nibbley’s Hearty Oatcakes with a touch of cinnamon. Norm had no idea of the size of the oakcakes and ordered three. Needless to say, he ate about half. I had mine as a side instead of toast with my Mexican Scramble that I was sharing with a friend. It was plenty and delicious. When I return, I’ll probably just have the oakcakes.

Our breakfast fare barely scratches the surface of what Nibbley’s has to offer on its menu. They feature items for the carb conscious, as well as tofu and just about anything you desire. Nibbley’s fresh baked oat bread, wheat bread, cinnamon rolls, muffins, and many other goodies are prepared fresh daily in its own kitchen. Prices are reasonable and the value is tremendous.

Advantages Of Restaurant Directories

People have stereotype perceptions about marketing, which usually make them to invest in advertisements and other conventional methods. Very few people realize the restaurant directory as a crucial way to advertise and improve the web presence of your restaurant.

The Restaurant and Cafe business are emerging as a major industry these days, people are changing their dining habits – for instant, noodles are not limited to only Chinese food stores, in the same way burgers are available all around the world. Thus, as far as foods are concerned, we are globalized.

Nowadays, it has become tough for the novice to survive in food markets. When they have to perform among the global customers, it is tricky for modern restaurants to maintain their unique brand identities. Even if you come up with an idea, which can make you cool and unique, then you still need many strategies to execute them.

Social media marketing is an effective and crucial part of restaurant marketing, and we cannot afford to ignore them. Everyone is aware of this. So there, we get millions of pages and billions of posts, describing and promoting their food business. Thus, for effective promotion of your restaurant you need extra strategies along with your social media campaign.

In many ways, using a restaurant directory can be a brilliant marketing strategy. Say, a commercial company is organizing a party and believe me; they usually use Google and other search engine to find a food outlet. What if you are not visible on the internet or you do not have any website? Has there been any chance for you to get such customers?

Once you mention your restaurant in restaurant directories, it not only gives customers, but also improves your web presence. You need not only to rely on your website to get online customers, as directories sometime become more effective.

Visit an Italian Restaurant While on Vacation

One thing that you should always look at is the menu. Some places have their menus displayed in their windows so that they catch the eyes of people that are passing by. Others have carryout and menus inside of their establishments. It doesn’t matter where they are located, you should take a look at them so you can see what drinks and meals they have to offer their customers.

Don’t just base your assessment of an Italian restaurant on the diversity of the menu. Go inside of the place and take a look around. A good quality eatery will be clean and organized. If the inside of the eating area and the bathrooms are kept in good condition, then there is a good chance that the kitchen is kept clean as well.

Use your nose and smell the aromas that are in the air. If what you smell is enticing to you, then you should go inside of that particular Italian restaurant. Sometimes smell is the only way you may notice a particular establishment while you are out and about. That is why it is so important for you to know when you are hungry and smell something good. Don’t assume that you will remember the name of the establishment on your own. If you don’t have the time to stop in for a quick bite, at least grab a menu that you can take with you for future reference.

If you are traveling and enjoying your trip to a new destination, don’t be afraid to ask some of the locals in the area. One good reason you should ask the locals is because they know firsthand information about the best and worst dining establishments to go to in the area. Instead of you wasting time, energy and money trying out different places, you can use your time wisely by going to places that the locals recommend.

In addition to asking around, pay special attention to where everyone goes when it is lunchtime. If you are visiting a large tourist attraction, then you may notice that there may be an Italian restaurant or two that has a parking lot full of customers. Some of the best places to eat are not always going to be the best looking places in town. Be open-minded and again, look at the menu and taste some of the meals. You may be surprised to see that you can enjoy some large portions without spending a fortune in the process.

Gato Bizco Cafe

I would trade a breakfast at Gato Bizco any day over one at Radial, and maybe even over one at the ‘biscuit’. A row of approximately eight booths line one wall, and then you have counter seating in the middle with the cook stations against the other wall. It’s an awesomely small, dark space that seems to feel like everyone who comes in is just waking up for the day. That doesn’t mean it doesn’t ever get busy. However, I think you can avoid anything near the wait you’ll find across the street.

We sat at the counter, right in front of the flat top skillet where they cook/prepare nearly all of the food. If you ever get the chance, sit here because you’re in for a show. Cooking is an art, and blah blah blah all that. What I find masterful and great are the line cooks or can prepare six or seven orders at once and keep going, ultimately multi-tasking better than any automaton could. Some people can’t handle one pan in their kitchen, try four pans with omlettes going, a flat skillet in the middle with various toast, biscuits, sausages. You name it, all of it cooking with different start and stop times, and then coordinating their plating schedules. It’s always a great scene to watch. As I sat there eating my delicious omelette, with buttered biscuits (which actually rival the ones as the Flying B), and a cup of coffee, I wished to myself that more orders would come in – just so the show could continue.

I’m not sure if this is a regular thing. Maybe they only have two people working the station sometimes. Maybe the person usually isn’t so great at cooking seven orders at once. Who knows? I just know that my girlfriend and I both agreed that it was an awesomely good spot to observe the slinging hash.

The food? It’s on part with most of the better brunch spots in Atlanta. The atmosphere is more quiet, more neighborhood cafe, and less full blown chain-restaurant. It’s good here and should definitely hold a spot in your rotation of regular breakfast stops.

Benefits Restaurants Provide

First of all, when people visit restaurants they don’t have to worry about cooking their own food. This may not be a big deal to people who love cooking or for those who have spare time to prepare their own food. However, let’s face it. There are many people who just don’t have the time to cook. They may work long hours and once they finally get home, the last thing on their mind is cooking. Then, there are those who may not work long hours, but their time is consumed by soccer games and school plays for their children. Once they actually get some free time, it’s too late to prepare an entire home cooked meal. So, they either warm up a television dinner for everyone or go out to the nearest fast food joint. Therefore, they rarely ever get the opportunity to enjoy a full, balanced meal.

That’s why restaurants are so important. These businesses hire chefs who prepare meals for the customers. So, they can just go in, order their food and be finished with their meal in an hour or less.

Another great thing about going out to eat is the waitressing services. When people go out to eat they usually don’t have to worry about much of anything, accept for enjoying their meal. They don’t have to fix their own drinks or their food. They don’t have to get their own refills. They don’t even have to worry about washing their own dishes and cleaning their table when they’re done. When people are at home, these are all things they have to do for themselves. That is, unless they have a maid or a personal waitress.

Lastly, restaurants also give people an opportunity to eat food prepared by highly skilled chefs. Sometimes, even the best amateur cooks fall short of creating the type of food that a well-trained chef is capable of creating. That’s because these professionals have had years of training and experience. That’s why they are able to offer their customers food items that can’t be easily duplicated.
